What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owners. Cookies help us remember your preferences, understand how you interact with our site, and improve your overall experience when learning about our offline poker lounge and dining offerings.

Cookies may be session-based, which means they are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent, which means they remain on your device for a set period. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and web beacons, which function in comparable ways. Cookies do not typically contain personally identifiable information, but they may be linked to other data we hold.

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core features such as page navigation, secure access, and the operation of our age verification and cookie consent popups. Without these cookies, the website cannot perform optimally, and your ability to explore our offline poker lounge information may be limited.

Examples include session cookies and load balancing cookies. These cookies do not require consent under applicable laws, but we still disclose them for transparency. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as setting privacy preferences.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. This data allows us to improve the user experience, optimise content about our poker room and dining services, and identify areas where visitors may need more information about our offline poker tournaments.

We may use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. These cookies collect information like pages visited, time spent on site, and referral sources. All data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features. For example, they may remember your preferred language or region, or whether you have already seen our age verification popup. These cookies improve your experience when browsing our Art Deco-inspired site and learning about our felt poker tables.

Examples include language preference cookies and region selection cookies. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you disable these cookies, some features may not work as intended.

Marketing and Third-Party Cookies

Fortuneparlourclub Lounge & Poker Room does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies that track users across websites for targeted advertising. Our focus is on providing information about our offline poker lounge and dining experiences without intrusive tracking. However, we may use third-party services for embedded content or social media features that could set their own cookies.

If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and seek appropriate consent. Third-party services such as Google Maps, if embedded, may set cookies to function properly. We do not sell personal data collected via cookies to any third parties.

Our commitment: We do not use marketing or advertising cookies for cross-site tracking, and we do not sell personal data collected via cookies.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to block or alert you about cookies, or delete cookies already stored on your device. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website, including the age verification and cookie consent popups, which are essential for accessing our offline poker lounge information.

  1. Chrome: Open Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
  2. Firefox: Open Options, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
  3. Safari: Open Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
  4. Edge: Open Settings, then Site permissions, then Cookies and site data.

You can also use browser extensions or privacy tools to manage cookie preferences. For more information about cookies and how to manage them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Cookie Consent and Age Verification

When you first visit our website, you will see a cookie consent popup that allows you to accept or manage cookie preferences. Additionally, because our venue is an adults-only offline poker lounge, we require age verification before accessing certain content. Both popups use cookies to remember your choices, ensuring you do not have to repeat the process on subsequent visits.

The cookie consent popup stores your preference in a functional cookie. The age verification popup stores a confirmation flag in a session or persistent cookie. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.
